Christmas Act I

Ok, so I am not a very devoted blogger!  :) This year Christmas was so much fun. Let me begin at the beginning. My grandaddy ALWAYS decorates their yard for Christmas. This is a huge part of our family tradition. In recent years he has scaled back a little but, this year's display was one of my favorites. I tried to take some pics at night when everything is lit up- but they don't do it justice.

This summer our Christmas decorations were stolen out of a storage building. ( I am still a little bitter!) So we had to start over on the decoration front. We just did one tree this year and did not do much to our yard.

I was off the week of Christmas and Aaden and I had fun helping my mom and grandma bake and get things ready. Ethan, my youngest brother, and I cut out many, many cookies and Hunter, my cousin, helped to decorate them.

More to come..... maybe!

It is Official!

My original "little" brother, Josh, got married yesterday. He and his sweet bride Rachel were married in Jamacia (rum drinks and reggae!). I got really sad thinking about it. I guess I just still picture him being small enough that I can shove his head under the couch cushions and sit on him ( he could be really annoying!). I know that they will be very happy together in the frozen north of Ohio. They have each started to blog and their blogs can be found on my side bar. They are : All Our Little Moments and The Collected Works. Together they make up 1/2 of my readers! I am not good enough to make a link to their blogs! (Susannah- tell me how please!)

Best Wishes For A Bright Future!

Turkey Day and Senior Citizen Discounts

Well I am offically married to an "older" man. Anthony turned the big 3-0 last Tuesday. To celebrate, the 3 of us pack everything but the kitchen sink and headed off to Pigeon Forge. We had a fantastic time. Did I mention that on the ride up there Aaden wasgetting a tooth (which we didn't really know at the time) and had a terrible cold? Anthony figured out that we should try playing DVDs on the laptop. So we stopped and bought Max and Ruby. Six LOOONG episodes of Max and Ruby, I have never really wanted to harm a woodland creature so bad in my life. It did the trick so I tried to keep my murderous thoughts to myself. I also want to know where the heck are Max and Ruby's parents at? They are never around. Ruby takes care of Max and the Grandma pops in every now and then, but there is no real supervision!!!!

Anyhow! We loved the cabin we stayed in and ate tons of great food. We ate at the Apple Barn twice- yum, yum! We also cooked our own Thanksgiving meal. Aaden was such a little trooper. We knew that he didn't feel great but we were still able to do the things we had planned on. These things included: eating, shopping, eating, shopping, looking at Christmas Lights, eating, going to Roaring Forks, shopping, oh and eating!

I hope that everyone had the wonderfully blessed holiday that we did!

Happy 75th Grandaddy!

My wonderful grandaddy was 75 years young on Thanksgiving Day. Our family got together to celebrate his BIG day a few weekends ago with good food and Crimson Tide Football (two of my most favorite things!).

It was great to spend time with our family. Jacie was home from school so the only ones MIA were Josh and Rachel. We had fish that Jimmy, Austin, and Ethan caught that day. Austin caught a 7 1/2 lb catfish! We also had Oysters (which just really look like elephant boogers), Chick-fil-a nuggets (Yum Yum!), and lots of cheese grits and some other yummy things. According to Anthony and Dustin, Grandma made her best pecan pie EVER!

We all ate outside and enjoy the awesome fall weather. Sweet little Aaden loved being outside and fell asleep in my grandma's arms. It was just a great time hanging out together. My family sees each other all the time but it seems like someone is always in a hurry, or rushing out the door and we never really just enjoy being together (wow, I am normally not that cheesy- maybe it is the sleep deprivation!)

Happy Birthday Grandaddy!

6 Months

I cannot believe Aaden has been here for 6 months! Sometimes it seems like we just found out the he was on his way and other times I can't remember life without him!

He has been a busy little guy the last 6 months.
Coming home from the hospital. He was so small he barely fit in his carrier!

Learning high powered Karate moves! HI YUH!

And learning to eat lots of new things!

He came into this world weighing 5.5 lbs and now he weighs 16.8! He loves to eat veggies, not sure where he got that from! He is still not sleeping through the night but we all 3 enjoy the time we get to spend together (even at 4 a.m.). Anthony and I are thankful to GOD everyday for our little miracle. He is the most precious gift in the world and we could not imagine our lives without him.

Happy Halloween and The Roaming Gnome

This was Aaden's first Halloween! Usually Anthony and I just have to settle for dressing up George!

We took him to Wendy Jones Photography http://www.wjonesphotography.com/, where she had a special if you brought in canned food- that covered your sitting fee and she took your pic in your costume. We were in and out in 5 minutes and he did so good! My sister was there with her cowboy and her ninja. His pics will be up this Friday and I can't wait to see how they turned out.
Then we came home and Anthony's Parents came over. We dressed Aaden up and took lots of pictures. Then we went over to my grandparents' house for chili and to pass out candy. I did not pass out any candy because Aaden had another type of passing out in mind! He needed a power nap! Normally my whole family is at Grandma's for Halloween but this year there were some
missing faces. I guess with so many in our family it is getting harder for everyone to be together.

Is Anybody Out There?

OK, so this is post #1 or really try #3 on post #1. I have really got to remember to save things when I click away. So here we go again. Why am I doing this? Well, my dear sweet SIL, Susannah, is an awesome blogger who has gotten me interested in blog-stalking people. Suzy, Adam, Anderson, and the pups have moved all the way to the big state of Texas. She thought this would be a great way for them to be able to see Aaden more frequently. Also, my brother and his future wife live in Ohio and this will be good for them too. I am really betting that Suzy, Rachel, and my sweet sissy Kasey will be the only ones who read this anyway. So for the 3 of you--- no proof reading. I have to do this while Cash Money sleeps and we all know who much he does of that!

Here are a few pics to end my very first post maybe my next one will be inspiring or Earth-shatterin'!
